Happy Birthday, FCCR!
Sunday, June 5, from noon to 3 p.m.
 It's time to celebrate! FCCR will mark its 5th birthday by throwing a gigantic birthday party on Sunday, June 5, from noon to 3 p.m. in the shelter parking lot.
It'll be a festival of fives!
- 5 tables of free food: Barbecue sandwiches will be provided by the Bottle Caps, a ministry of Mountain View Presbyterian Church of Loveland. And don't forget the sides, drinks, cake and ice cream.
- 5 fun games: Our spay and neuter clinic's veterinary technicians will host the Tech Olympics, including fun games such as the challenging crate race, kiwi shave and trash toss. And of course we'll have our infamous "litter box scoop" game.
- 5 musicians of The Backline: Live music will be performed by The Backline, a band that rocks through hits from the '50s, '60s, '70s and today. Shelter staff member Judy Miotke's husband, Randy, is the band's keyboardist.
- $5 felines: Adopt a shelter cat 6 months or older for only $5 from June 1-5.
- $5 entry in quilt drawing (or 5 entries for $20): Enter to win the drawing for a beautiful quilt handmade by Anne Marie Bailey. This year's masterpiece includes artful drawings of many favorite felines from the shelter.

Also, the 3rd and 5th grade winners of the "Be Kind to Animals Week" essay contest will read their essays aloud.
