Who's Who at the Rescue

Our Board of Directors

FCCR is very pleased to have an outstanding board of directors.  Our board consists of:
  • Chairperson: Jana Dean, DVM
  • Secretary: Leslie Quitmeyer
  • Treasurer: Britt Boehner
  • Chairperson of Fundraising Committee: Ruth Swanty
  • Voting Member: Carol Mahoney
  • Voting Member: Jennifer Malinski

Our Staff

Sarah Swanty - Sarah is one of the founders of Fort Collins Cat Rescue, and is currently the Executive Director. She has been working in the animal field since she was 17 years old. She shares her home with a menagerie of animals that includes cats, dogs, fish, chickens and a horse.

Hilary Foshee, DVM - Hilary began working at FCCR as a volunteer in 2009. When our Volunteer Coordinator position opened, we jumped at the chance of being able to offer it to her. Hilary also works as a Client Service Representative and Animal Care Technician. She shares her home with 2 bouncy golden retriever mixes (Bowie & Violet), and 3 fabulous kitties (Guy Noir, Fiona, & Suki).

Gloria Matsushita, DVM - Dr. Gloria started working at FCCR in 2009. She is a graduate from Colorado State University and is our shelter veterinarian as well as one of the surgeons in our spay/neuter clinic. Dr. Gloria currently only has one kitty, Toby, but has lots and lots of furry friends at the shelter! She takes wonderful care of all of the homeless cats and kittens that come to our shelter.

Judy Miotke - Judy has been working at Fort Collins Cat Rescue since August of 2007. Judy started out as the receptionist in the spay/neuter clinic, but decided she really wanted to be involved in the rescue side of the business. Since moving over she has been an irreplaceable Animal Care Technician. Judy shares her home with 6 adorable and spoiled kitties: Kylie, Hoot, Macie, Thomas, Jack Hanna, & Jasmine.

Mary Wolf - Mary started as a foster home and volunteer for FCCR in 2007. After realizing what a dedicated individual and hard worker she was, we asked if she might be willing to become an FCCR staff member. In March of 2008, Mary joined our staff. Mary is our Foster Coordinator and also works as an Animal Care Technician and Client Service Representative. Mary shares her home with a large family of animals including: 2 dogs, 5 cats, and even some rats!

Jake the Cat - Jake originally came to FCCR as a transfer from the Humane Society. After several failed attempts at placing him in a home, we finally realized that he wanted to stay as a permanent FCCR resident. Jake is now FCCR's official Cat-Nap Coordinator. He also helps with Activity Coordination, Events, Greeting Clients, Greeting new cats, Product Testing, and much more. Jake is also a Certified Therapy Cat! You will likely meet Jake if you ever stop by the shelter as he is a very social guy!! Jake has become an irreplaceable member of the team.

Our Volunteers

Our army of volunteers is what keeps this place humming!  From shelter caretakers, to fundraising event coordinators, to webmasters, this organization would be nothing without the countless hours our volunteers contribute.   If you would like to volunteer, see the How to Help section of this website!
